This book is targeted for younger adolescents but after reading this book in one evening, it truly applies to readers of any age. The book centers around Griffin Penshine who is given a box of 11 Indian Pennies. The pennies represent the stolen wishes and the tale involves our young heroine on her plight to right the wrongs of others. It is an introspective story that teach the reader to take responsibility for their happiness versus depending upon wishful thinking. I enjoyed the book, which was a rather quick read for an adult. The language is age appropriate and has no inappropriate language to be weary of. My wife also liked the book and she said the story was appropriate for our 3rd grader. My 3rd grader also enjoyed the story, and she has read the book twice.

I look forward to more stories from the author, Ms. Tracy Trivas. Great job.

Highly recommend for your young reader, as well as for the youngster in all of us.

What a great book for the middle-grades! Griffin, our sixth-grade heroine, faces moral dilemmas with wit and courage and even when she does the wrong thing, we can sympathize and support her. The story's creepy when it needs to be, emotionally resonant and with twists and turns that keep the pace cooking and our interest up.
I really enjoyed this book particularly because of how bad I feel for the main character named Griffin. I wish that I could just help her somehow. The fact that I feel sorry for Griffin puts me on the edge of my seat about whether she will succeed or not.
I have been wishing for a good book and a think my wish came true!!! This was the best book EVER! I will definitely read more of Tracy Trivas's books! That baby boys name was so cute definitely recommend this book to everybody!This book tought me to never stop wishing!! -)
This book was phenomenal,and it is great for gifted kids. I should know because I'm in gifted. This book was so very detailed. I read it every night thinking that I was Griffin Penshine and I was going through her life. Tracy Trivas is an awesome author, I read most of her books and they were over-achieving
I read this book with my 8yr old boy. We had picked it put for him and I wasn't sure if he would like it, however once he started reading it defiantly drew him in and held his attention. The characters were good and believable for the most part, some stereo typing. The only drawback is that it gets a little preachy about environmental issues. The general idea of doing something to benefit others and being generous in our hearts was a good one however.
Awesome book
I chose this book to read aloud to the class (I am a middle school special education teacher). They are really enjoying it. It is full of colorful adjectives, which is perfect since we are working on adding adjectives to our writing. We are also working on being able to read what the author has written and form pictures in our minds. This book help emphasize this from it's use of descriptive language. The book is also full of suspense, which middle school students love. I am very pleased with this book and would recommend it for 5 - 7 grades.
It came in a couple days earlier than what I thought. I read the book as a kid and it was one of the few books that actually kept my attention and for years I was trying to remember what the book was called. I’m so glad when I finally figured it out that it was for sale on here. And the last person who read the book left some things in it though.
