I liked Michael and Grace and enjoyed the scenes in which they were together. Michael is a soldier, very tall, and gentle; Grace is intelligent with a wonderful imagination. Although Grace's brother was dispicable, he also was a characture of a villian; after reading several of the books in this series, he was a let down. And there were irritating moments. Other than Grace, why would the narration and other characters call her brother by his first name?Product details

Renee Bernard has become one of my favorite authors. She can spin a tale, and what I like most about this series is the loyalty between the men that make up the Jaded. Micheal is such an endearing hero. He has dedicated his life to protecting his friends, but when he falls in love with Grace, he is faced with the dilemma of the fact that her brother is the one with the largest threat to his friends. The have a rocky road to love, but Grace is such a sweet kind heroine. Abused by her brother, she is smart enough to put away her money that she is paid for writing books, pretending to the publisher that she is but a secretary to a man. Women were not allowed to do anything so unladylike. Micheal just happens to love her books having no idea that they are written by a woman. I loved that little twist. Still the romance is the kind that will move you to tears, and the passion as Ms. Bernard is known for is steamy. This is the kind of book you will want to reread. It will land on your keeper shelf.
Another awesome read! Michael has finally found the Jackal but there’s a hitch, he has a sister Grace who is innocent in all this and he will use her to his full advantage to get his precious treasure. Michael accidentally finds this treasure it seems he had it all along. As they say a diamond in the ruff. As the Jaded gang up on Michael when they find out he is marrying there enemies sister, they call him a traitor and sever ties. Michael is just trying to protect the woman he loves as all the Jaded are. As this comes to a head they find out Michael was never a traitor but only trying to protect them as he vowed when they were all imprisoned. A wonderful series I am sad is ending.
An excellent finish to a fine, suspenseful HEA series. Michael Rutherford, avowed protector of the Jaded, loves Grace Porter. How can he win her and defeat her evil brother? No give away here. Lots of intrigue, romance, and possible betrayal. Ms. Bernard continues to mark an entertaining path with historical romance.
I read the first book in the series, Revenge Wears Rubies, and wasn't really a fan. The premise was silly, the angst forced, and neither main character was particularly loveable. It seemed to rely less on storyline and more on sex. The sex scenes were hot and well written, but it's not erotica so that wasn't enough to carry the book. It certainly wasn't good enough to make me want to buy the entire series. The character of Michael, however, intrigued me. I wanted to read more about him.
I'm glad I bought his book.
Michael is truly a gentle giant, shy and sweet and kind and incredibly protective of those he cares about. I adored him.
Usually, if the hero is so great, it's hard for me to feel as strongly about the heroine - either she's a prop or doesn't quite deserve him. Not so with Grace. She is witty and warm and INTERESTING. I adored her, too.
I adored how beautiful Grace and Michael were together. They just fit together wonderfully. There was genuine like and respect between them from the very beginning and their affection seemed genuine.
Whereas the first book in the series relied heavily on sex, there were just a couple of scenes in this one and they were full of this lovely sense of discovery between two people new to lovemaking (spoiler Michael was a virgin).
I almost never give five stars to a book and the story itself doesn't warrant more than four but I would definitely give the CHARACTERS five stars. I loved them so much.

Desire Wears Diamonds by Renee Bernard is the sixth and last novel in the Jaded Gentlemen series. When I read the other books in this series, I was always intrigued with Michael's character. Let me say, his story did not disappoint. In fact, he is probably my favorite of all the Jaded Gentlemen. I also liked Grace. She is as spunky and honest as all the other heroines in this series.
All in all, this is a series I would read again, especially Michael's story in Desire Wears Diamonds.
I don't normally leave reviews for books but this series was too compelling not to. I downloaded the fourth book in the series for free and had read only a few chapters before I bought the first one and have just completed the sixth and final installment. The Jaded Gentlemen Books are full of intrigue, passion and hope. The characters are well developed and Miss Bernard does a wonderful job of pulling the past, present and future together to create a series of books that had me holding my breath throughout. The romantic elements were just hot enough to keep happy without becoming gaudy. I highly recommend all six of these books and have already bought her follow up first installment. Keep writing miss Bernard, I look forward to more.
This is the ultimate FABULOUS finale to the 'Jaded Gentlemen' series. We traveled far and wide with our friends in these wonderful novels. This is Michael's & Grace's story and we find out all the answers we were seeking since Book 1. The storyline is exciting and the ending took me by surprise, and I was delighted!!! Renee is a fabulous author and I highly recommend her books. Also, the 'Duchess Club' features some of the children of our friends from this series. I will be reading that next!! THANKS, RENEE, FOR THE HOURS OF THRILLING READING YOU PROVIDE ME!!
