this author's style at all. I love reading about the Amish people and their plain and humble culture. Have read all three of the books in this series and do not understand the almost hostile attutide the Amish have towards family, friends and others in these three books. The waspish way mothers and daughters treat each other.Backbiting. The hostility the fathers and sons show towards each other. No one gets along. Even the grannys' mentioned in these books have a sour attitufe towards their daughters and grands. This is the Amish Way??
Other books I've read about the Amish people have been entirely different.
Either the other authors have been sugar coating their books or this author doesn't know the Amish people the way her bio read.
Which way is the right way?????

Forever Amish A Novel Legacy of Lancaster Trilogy Book 3 edition by Kate Lloyd Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
I found it difficult to finish this book. Overall, it was very well written but the main character was an emotional wreck and a doormat personality. She was unable to make up her mind, then jumped to a conclusion and that original problem was forgotten. The continuity throughout the book was poor. Many items were never followed through. I won't spoil the book for those reading it but be forewarned many things are left totally unsettled.
I had expected more information regarding life as part of the Amish community as opposed to a young woman's soul searching. Definitely had some times when I wanted to shake Sally, send
Lizzie to her room and Ed , well.... Overall I was very impressed with the story and the lessons it contains and how it made me look within myself.
If you're looking for a novel that includes romance and attraction, not steamy bedroom scenes, this may be what you're searching for. Sally has been raised by her dad "Honest Ed" who owns a used car lot. She is engaged to a successful business man from a socially prominent family and has spent years winning dog shows with Mr. Big, her little Welsh Corgi.
Inexplicably, she'd been receiving strange emails from an Amish girl in Pennsylvania saying she is in trouble and needs to buy a dog from Sally. After a serious disagreement with her fiancé, Sally impulsively decides to take a weekend trip to find this girl Lizzie and to think about her upcoming wedding..
The decision to make that trip turns her existence upside down and leads her in a whole new direction in her life. Of course, this is Christian fiction, but it's not stereo typical, and the story kept my interest. The characters are multi-dimensional and believable for the most part.
I'm giving the novel for stars instead of five because I think it needs a little more development in places.

Having read the first two books of the series, I have to say that this one took me completely by surprise. I began reading it thinking I knew it was going in the same direction of most books of this genre, but, that was not the case. First of all, as I began reading, I had the sense that a piece to the puzzle, or should I say, the story, was missing. It started out almost like a mystery. The mystery unfolds right from the start when Sally decides to go to Lancaster County because of some e-mails she had received from Lizzie. Upon arriving to Lancaster County, Sally is increasingly aware that she has no clue as to why she is there, and thus begins the sense of mystery. But that is also where the mystery part of the story ends as Sally soon discovers what the real reason for her visit is. The story unfolds revealing a beautiful story of love, romance, self-discoveries, revelations, faith, and forgiveness, which ends up being a perfect ending to a great series.
*Although this book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend the entire series.
