Claire Foster and Jake Montgomery are freelance insurance investigators in San Francisco, California. They work when they want to and take the particular cases they want to, but the next case they have is one that Claire stumbles into…literally. This is a winning choice for anyone who craves a good old-fashioned gumshoe novel with some modern updates. A diverse cast of characters will take you on an action-packed mystery/adventure that combines elements of a traditional mystery while mixing in some wacky hijinks reminiscent of Three’s Company. (Don't laugh. It's a classic!)Claire and Jake are unlikely best friends and partners in an insurance fraud investigation business. Their current case provides the subplot mystery for a storyline many can relate to: the search for a soul mate. Claire’s tactics might be non-traditional, but her support network grants an authenticity to the whole endeavor. Just like life, it becomes unclear exactly which is the sub-plot and which the main story. Pretty soon you’re having too much fun to care.
While Jake and Claire might always get their man when said man is busy ripping off their client, it’s a bit uncertain whether either of them will get their men, if you know what I mean. The point at which the personal intersects with the professional is what makes The Agreement so unique and lovable. I truly enjoyed the way the author supplied a mystery, a romance and a buddy novel—all rolled into one—and I’m tickled to note that the second book in the series has been released.

I enjoyed the story. However, the book is in need of some serious editing. There are quite a few typos and misuse of words. It was distracting. I am currently reading the second book and am finding the same problem. I hope the author will continue with the same characters, just please have your books edited in the future.
Very strong! Sturdy. Easy to install.
This was a fast moving story about 2 best friends who get into all kinds of trouble together. The action is non stop as they crash through life. Then the real fun begins with all kinds of exciting adventures. I have a feeling that this team will be back in another book.
Great book! Won't be able to put it down
I liked the characters. The story was fast-paced. It had a good plot. I really enjoyed it. It was a real page turner.
Fast action kept me interested in this book. Good characters. Playful banter and excitement kept the story from getting boring. Will definitely read her next in the series.
Two partners who investigate claims for insurance companies accidentally stumble onto a murder case. Ms. Foster thinks she sees the dead man, alive! While running down facts, Ms. Foster is presented with a way to make some extra money she needs, if an agreement can be reached. Side plots - clearing a former drug addict in the family of the accusations of theft... the main plots and side/sub plots are well-woven. The book flows easily when reading it.
I loved the character of Aunt Mollie along with many other characters.
Truly, this book was a joy to read. Because I laughed and smiled so much, I'm giving the book 5 stars. Normally, if there are a few misspellings ... I tend to mark the book down a star. Not this time! This was a very comfortable, relaxing read and it deserves 5 stars! Sure hope you enjoy this mystery/murder/family book as much as I have. )
